Overview:
The 41st Tank Division captured the village of Petushki, sustaining heavy losses in the process. Now depleted and under heavy pressure from the 14th Panzer Division, Col. Pavlov ordered his division to withdraw eastward to Rovno. He formed a rear guard, consisting of flamethrower tanks and his remaining KV-2s, to slow the German advance. General Kuehn received intelligence that the Soviets were retreating and quickly launched a vengeful tank and infantry assault. A brutal engagement ensued with the Panzer III’s desperately firing 37mm and 50mm main gun rounds at the monstrous KV-2s.Attacker: German (Schützen Regiment 103 and Panzer Regiment 36, Panzer Division 14)
