Overview:

Chuikov’s 8th Guards Army was advancing through lowland, crisscrossed by canals and streams, known as Oderbruch. They had to negotiate the marshy terrain confined to Reichsbahn 1, the area’s main paved road, in order to seize the Seelow Heights. Upon reaching the flooded Hauptgraben Canal, the Russian lead elements found the bridged destroyed and under fire from Tiger and Panther tanks from Panzer Division Muncheberg, along with supporting infantry from Panzer Grenadier Division 20. Russian engineers worked feverishly to complete bridges across the Hauptgraben while Stalin and T-34 tanks at idling on Reichsbahn 1, exposed to enemy fire. Utilizing improved footbridges, Russian infantry began to filter across the canal. Once the engineers had completed a pontoon bridge, Russian tanks began to surge forward again. . .

2021-03-31(A) X von Marwitz vs Alex Koestler German winJust finished this one tonight playing the Russians. The Russians have to assault across two Foot Bridges places as part of the setup. Russian AFVs can only cross over a Pontoon Bridge in U4 which is only completed (i.e. placed on board) at the start of Russian Turn 2. Overall an interesting tactical situation.

2016-07-09(A) Gordon Jupp vs Nick Holmshaw Russian winPicked this one as it looked an interesting tactical situation, crossing a flooded stream using two footbridges and a pontoon which is placed in turn 2. Wasn't dissapointed, we had a fun game which went down to the last CC. My berserkers won it for me, no less than 3 units heat of battled to it! Made up for my 8-1 who also HOB by surrendering as he was adjacent to a German unit he should have been about to sort out!
