Overview:
The Russian attack at Summa had stalled. There was snow everywhere causing the Soviet supply system to falter. For the past two days all attempts to dislodge the Finnish defenders had failed. On December 19th, the Russians were determined to make a large coordinated push. The commander of the 138th Rifle Division demanded more armor which support was provided by elements of the 95th Tank Battalion. The Soviet infantry and armor needed ammunition and fuel however. Nevertheless, the Soviet attack restarted on the morning of the 19th. Wave after wave of infantry and armor attacks assaulted the Finnish troops. The defenders had had several days to prepare and had cleared fields of fire through the wooden terrain.Attacker: Russian (650th Regiment, 138th Division and 95th Tank Battalion)
