Overview:

Along all sectors of the Italian invasion, the advance was not going well. In the town of Kalpaki the Italians were trying to force their way to capture the imposing heights of Grambala Hill by sending in the armor of the Centauro Division. Bad roads, weather and Greek artillery firing from strong positions stopped the Italians cold. Many of the light Italian tanks were knocked out, immobilized, or captured. The surviving tanks and accompanying infantry fled after a spirited bayonet charge by the Greeks. Kalpaki would fall a few days later but the Italian offensive was stumbling to a halt.
