Overview:
Shortly after elements of Kompanie 3, Fallschirmjager Regiment 2 parachuted into the sand dunes to the west, eighteen Ju-52 transports landed on Ockenburg Airfield with over 200 troops from Regiment 65, Infanterie Division 22 (luftlande). The second wave of eight Ju-52s soon followed with 130 more troops. Defending Ockenberg Airfield was Captain Dr. Pieter J.A. Boot with ninety-six men including an ensign and eight NCOs.
