Overview:
The 3rd Battalion, 29th Infantry Regiment arrived at the summit of Hadong Pass on 27 July. The lead companies were ordered to deploy along the sides of the road and to move to higher ground to the north. The forward command group witnessed a column of soldiers approaching from the west, some dressed in South Korean uniforms, some sporting the KPA mustard brown. When called out to identify themselves in Korean, the troops responded by scattering to the sides of the road. As the now-identified North Korean troops scattered, all hell broke loose as the KPA sprung its trap. North Korean rifle, machine gun, and mortar fire swept over the pass from the high ground to the north.Attacker: North Korean (6th Division)

2022-09-10 | (D) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | North Korean win | As the Americans, I conceded at the end of Turn 2. I managed to exit 26 CVP and got only 1 casualty CVP, because Dan rolled a 12 on an MC. The North Koreans just wasted my remaining troops as they tried to both hold off the North Koreans and head for the exit. By the end of Turn 2, Dan had 28 CVP and I gave the concession. I was broken and reeling under the onslaught and had very little chance to get any more units off and with 6 turns of movement left, Dan would easily exit massive numbers of North Koreans. It was clearly over. Extremely tough on the Americans. | ||
