Overview:
The Germans desperately wanted to recapture Vossenack in order to cut off all forces south of the Kall Trail and completely defeat the American attack. During the hours of darkness, several tank and self-propelled gun units occupied positions in the vicinity of Bergstein ridge to proved long-range support. A massive artillery preparation began at sunrise. The American soldiers who had been constantly exposed to artillery and small arms fire since taking the village on 2 November, were near their breaking point. German soldiers came out of the mist and were soon moving from house to house in the village.Attacker: German (Battalion II/Panzergrenadier Regiment 156 and Battalion I/Panzergrenadier Regiment 60, Panzer Division 116)
