Overview:
On May 1st, hostilities broke out on the Euphrates River, as the beleaguered garrison of RAF Habbaniya struck against Iraqi forces dug in above the base on the Habbaniya escarpment. The following day, as the ad hoc British air group pounded the heights, several combat patrols were sent out to engage Iraqi forces advancing from Fallujah to the south and from Ramadi to the west. One such patrol by elements of No. 4 Company (Assyrian) was sent to block an Iraqi armored column approaching on the Fallujah road.Attacker: Iraqi (Iraqi Independent Mechanized Brigade)
