Overview:
The Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (KNIL) was defending the area between Kaks to Langoan including the single runway airfield at Langoan. Two small Dutch detachments lead by First Lieutenant J.G. Wielinga and Sergeant-Major H.J. Robbemond defended the airfield. At approximately 0930 hours, Commander Toyoaki Horiuchi parachuted with 139 other Japanese paratroopers from 1st Company, 1st Yokosuka Special Naval Landing Force (SNLF) and led them in an attack on Langoan airfield.Attacker: Japanese (1st Company, 1st Yokosuka SNLF, 41st Brigade)
